Our Services - Workshop Services

Workshop services are offered for families residing outside of Calgary who procure and maintain their own team of therapists, including scheduling of weekly treatment hours, and overseeing the treatment program on a daily basis. Parents and their treatment team will receive initial in-home training from a workshop consultant regarding the implementation of behavioral principles. Initial workshops are generally held on three consecutive days between the hours of 9:00 AM and 3:00 PM, with a one-hour lunch break.

During the initial workshop, the consultant will assess the child’s skill level, determine appropriate goals and procedures, design an individualized educational curriculum, and train parents and staff in the implementation of behavioral principles. A report outlining the child’s programs and consultant’s recommendations will be mailed to the parents approximately 3 to 4 weeks after the initial workshop. Additional consultations may be scheduled on a monthly, quarterly, or as-needed basis, to continue staff training, monitor the child’s progress, and determine new treatment goals.

Telephone and video consultations may also be arranged with the consultant if the parents desire more frequent supervision. Telephone consultations provide parents with the opportunity to discuss the child’s programs, seek guidance on teaching methods or behavior problems, or any other concerns that they may have regarding their child’s treatment. To receive a video consultation, parents must submit a 30-minute video of their child’s treatment. The consultant will review the video and provide the team with feedback. These services are billed separately from the workshops.
